Gilchrist Inn -- owned by Betty and Johnny Surles -- was built in 1914 by local architect Max Price. The house features pine flooring, tongue and groove ceilings, tin roof, and finely manicured gardens.

The screened porch offers a view of mile wide Charlotte Harbor famous for tarpon fishing and a great variety of wildlife.

Accommodations range from individual rooms to a three room carriage house, suite. All have fans, central air conditioning, private baths, and heat.



Directions to the Gilchrist Inn:
From I-75 Exit 29. Turn left (west) onto Marion (US 17). Pass through downtown Old Punta Gorda (Less than two miles.). Turn right on Gilchrist. On left overlooking Charlotte Harbor.
