Puppies are like children. Young Portuguese Water Dog Puppies are like any intelligent, high spirited, child. They like to do things. Especially to try new things. To test their place in the world. The first three months of a puppy's training is critical to the eventual well being of the adult dog. The first half of that training is pretty much up to the puppy's mother. The rest is up to the new owner. Train the puppy right from the start and you will have a wonderful friend. Don't train the puppy and the dog will have a wonderful friend.
